Supporting research that advances our understanding of the future

Understanding the future requires new methods and fresh perspectives. Grants for Impact initiative of World Futures Lab supports researchers to develop ideas, advance research methodologies, and contribute to knowledge that helps us understand and address the challenges shaping our world.

Research Seed Grant

Funding for our early-career researchers to launch new research projects, test hypotheses, conduct pilot studies, and generate preliminary data. The grant helps establish the feasibility of research ideas and build a foundation for future investigations and larger grant applications.

Futures Research Grant

Funding for our researchers to develop, evaluate, and improve methodologies, statistical models, computational techniques, and research tools relevant to Futures Studies. The grant supports methodological innovation and the advancement of approaches for investigating possible futures.

Futures Impact Award

Recognition for outstanding recently published research in Futures Studies that contributes to understanding or addressing major contemporary challenges, including climate change, water insecurity, biodiversity loss, public health, and technological disruption.

Student Research Grant

Funding for undergraduate and post-graduate students to undertake research relevant to Futures Studies.
